The project involves the construction of the hall that will host the courses of the dance school after the previous building was demolished by the earthquake.
The School of dance is a rectangular building, with the structure and most of the finishes made of wood. The simple and geometric shape of the structure is contrasted by a curved outer shield, which surrounds the building and delimits two small patios.
In the patios, there are gardens visible from the dance hall, which contribute to the solar shading of the windows and to the sense of privacy during dance lessons. The outer shield of the dance hall has a metal structure. To this structure are anchored shielding elements, designed in a variable thickening, with a decreasing gradient in correspondence of the patios. In this way, through the windows of the patios, it is possible to catch a glimpse of the interior gardens and the activities that take place in the hall; the texture of the shield becomes then thicker, at the north and south opaque walls of the hall.
This screening system refers to the typical plots of the area, such as those of wicker baskets or of racks.
